As an American first, and a disabled vet (medically discharged in 91 from injurues sustained in a parachute accident) I am greatful to all those who serve and have served... as well as all the people around this great country who support them. A special thank you should always go out to all the family members of our service men and women as well... for the sacrifices they make daily.

Yesterday, my nephew returned to California from Qatar. He is extremely happy to be home... back to his loving wife. I don't know the exact date, but she is getting closer to being due to have her first child. I am glad that Tim made it back in time to witness the birth of his baby daughter when the time comes.

My brother-in-law retired from the USAF, and now my nephew is walking in his boots. That's right, there's a new soldier in the USAF and right now, he's taking over Qatar (LOL). All my prayers go out to Airman Timothy Boyer as he is far away from home while his wife is with child. God willing, he will be home next month to witness his little girl (first child) being born.

SUPPORT OUR TROOPS! They need us as much as we need them!

Dear Lord, I pray. I pray for all of our soldiers who are far away from their homes and families answering their calls of duty to protect our great nation from harm. Lord, I pray for the wounded soldiers that they may heal not only in body, but also in mind and spirit. Lord I pray for their families who miss them. Lord, I pray for the fallen soldiers and their families. They truly gave themselves for the price of freedom. It's a funny word, Lord, for we all know that feedom is not free. It comes with a price, and our soldiers are paying that price every single day so that we can go about our daily lives. Lord, I pray for those who don't realize this. I pray that they come to an understanding of what it means to be free. I pray that when our soldiers do return home, they will be greeted with open arms not only from family and friends, but also from the government. Lord, I don't want to see another post-Vietnam. Lord, I pray that whether people support the wars or not, I pray that they support out troops. Lord, guide our troops. When they have to go to battle, protect them. Keep them safe so that they may return home victorious. I pray in Jesus name... Amen!

To all my friends here on MySpace
Please note when you read this, I have done USO tours in the Past!! This should have to be new to me!
Many of you know the feelings of have for the “Respect” and “Courage” that the men and women that serve in the military deserve from the folks back home or right next door.
I have been talking with our troops, both “State-side” and “Overseas”. They are needing more entertainment from home. Some of you, are forgetting what it is like to be “Home Sick”. They want celebrities (big or small) to come and hang with them, and show them the support they deserve!

I want to be the Man both my Mom and Dad raised. I want to be the American that I was by God’s gift, allowed to be! I was a Very fat kid and adult, and was unable to do my part. I have done several USO tours in the past ( some of the best times of my life! ), but because I had stepped away from being in the public eye, to both, lose my weight, and sadly my Mom ( who I was with until she died last year ). I have been forgotten about by the USO. “I do not blame these guys”. They want what is best for the troops. But “Now” I have the time and means to be able to show my support, like I did Once before. I am not going to wait until my next MOVIE or TV show comes out, just to have some PR person think I am famous enough once again to be worthy of doing this!
So, I would like to ask for your help. Please help me spread the word to everyone you know, and everyone “they” know, to contact the USO. I am going to do this the “OLD SCHOOL” way if I have too.
Please contact TODAY! It doesn’t matter if write or call, just do it!

Tell your friends, your family members, and of course those in any service (past or present) that "I".....Ron Lester, am still and will be always, here to support them! It would only take a second of your day to contact them and send the USO to my website.
www.Ronlesteronline.com

So that they can see the list of movies and television shows that I have been a part of. Not to mention the USO photo’s I have in my fan section from “Past….USO tours”
You can also contact the:
A.F.E. (Armed Forces Entertainment…you will have to google it.)
or the
M.W.R. (Morale, Welfare, Recreation)
www.armymwr.com
MWR is the point of contact the USO has to coordinate celebrities visits with deployed soldiers
All I know is the more they hear from you....the sooner I will be able take a little bit of home to them and help put a smile on the faces the men and women of the armed forces.
I am sorry I don’t know any other contact as of yet for the other branchs! If you know of any please e-mail the info. Either here on myspce or on my personal e-mail
Ron@Ronlesteronline.com
While you are at it, why not pick one of my military buddies and write them. Say “Hey” and that we are thinking about you! It would really mean a lot to them.
Today they said that as of today….there have been 4000 of our men and woman killed in the line of duty. That is 4000 military personal that have died for both you and me!
Lets NOT FORGET them!

Thank you for helping me help them!

Okay, so I joined this awesome thing called Soldier's Angels. It's a place where you can 'adopt' a soldier and send them letters and care packages and stuff. My son, who's 6, is so stoked about making stuff for our soldier. He drew him some pictures and we wrote him a letter. It was a great family activity. According to Logan, soldier's are the 'real Americans'. I have no idea what the rest of us are but, Soldiers? Yeah, they're the real deal! LOL So if you're interested in showing some love to the guys fighting for you, go to www.soldiersangels.com. You can also make a donation if sending letters and care packages aren't your thing. Give 'em some love guys!
