Blessed are they who keep his statutes and seek him with all
their heart.
Psalm 119:2, New International Version
It is easier to renounce worldly possessions than it is to
renounce the love of them.

VERSE:
[After Jesus had raised the son of the widow from Nain:] They
were all filled with awe and praised God. "A great prophet has
appeared among us," they said. "God has come to help his people."
-- Luke 7:16
THOUGHT:
Jesus came to do the work of God. Jesus came as the Son of God.
Jesus came to reveal God. Jesus came and people praised God. Jesus
came so people could see God. Do you know Jesus? If you do, do you
know him as well as you should?
PRAYER:
O Gracious Father and Eternal God, thank you for revealing
yourself, your love, your grace, and your salvation in Jesus. We
thank you for visiting our world and making us your children. To
you, O God, belongs all glory and praise in the name of Jesus
Christ. Amen.
AVOIDING ERROR
1 Thessalonians 2:1-4
Dear Father,
I pray that every ministry being done in your name in our time
will be done in unselfish love for you and for people. Please
defeat those that serve to bring honor to themselves instead of
you.
May people leading these ministries avoid everything that springs
from error or un cleanness. Let there be no deceit in any appeal.
Let those whom you have entrusted with the gospel live and speak
not to please others but to please you.
In the holy name of Jesus. Amen.
